12c. Honour and support the young people of our communities, enabling them to fulfill their essential role in creating sustainable societies.
Cabs pull up and out pile Herbert Smith employees, mostly young lawyers, all arriving with anticipation. They have committed themselves to buddy up with a Global Generation youth leader (Generator) for a co-learning adventure in social enterprise and career development. As they settle into a newly landed 'flying classroom' in the New Skip Garden, the sense of trust and curiosity about what the year long journey ahead will hold is palpable.
Jane Riddiford, Executive Director, Global Generation
Global Generation has flung open doors, arming us with unique voices and belief that as youths we have power.
Patrick (15 years)
The Generators have given me the ability to think of a new start, new possibilities. Thinking global, acting local. Community matters. We construct ideas together, departed from strict rules.

Global Generation aims to empower the younger generation to take a lead in creating positive environmental and social change in their communities. They endeavour to unlock a passion within and between people so they can really make a difference in our changing world.
Young people learn and practise new skills, ranging from public speaking and working with business professionals on concrete tasks, to building and growing gardens and developing themselves through reflection-based activities.
Herbert Smith Freehills LLP is a full service international legal practice. The relationship began with pro bono guidance on leases and the agreements a small charity needs to grow food and enhance biodiversity on London roof tops. It has developed into a broader and deeper engagement that brings mutual benefits.
